Support for Minority Youth (August 2022- July 2023)
Project ” Support for Minority Youth” was implemented in partnership with German NGO Rönne-Stiftung, with the financial support of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany. The initiative aimed at contributing to the enhancement of multi-ethnic coexistence in Georgia by skills enhancement of youth. Within the project planned activities envisaged:
- Students trainings ( on leadership and facilitation skills development)
- Pupils’ trainings (on formal and non-formal educational opportunities)
- Study visit in Germany (for students)
- Summer camp (for pupils)
- Support of Students’ and pupils’ community development initiatives with small grants
Nomoregringe Powerbank Telegram Chatbot in Georgia (January 2023-June 2023)
The project was implemented in partnership of the Ukrainian NGO Pislyazavtra, within the programme “EU4Gender Equality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence”.
Within the project Georgian version of Telegram Chatbot nomoregringe was adopted – the online interactive tool informing and educating teenagers, while keeping them entertained. The chatbot serves to promote gender equality and inclusivity, as it provides explanations in a very simplified, understandable and fun manner.
Supporting Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality (February 2022-December 2022)
Project Supporting “Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality” was carried out in partnership with Advice Center for Women “Sakhli” within the programme: EU 4 Gender Equality: Together Against Gender Stereotypes and Gender-Based Violence” which was jointly implemented by UNFPA and UN Women with the financial support of the European Union.
Within the project, Development and Engagement platform worked with women with disabilities, women with ethnic minority backgrounds, and mothers of children with disabilities. Overall, 299 women were involved in our activities:
- Soft Skills Trainings involved 95 women
- Community-based Leadership Trainings engaged 140 women of various ethnic backgrounds
- Vocational trainings -carried out by 14 women with disabilities
- Group therapy sessions were attended by 50 mothers of children with disabilities and special educational needs.
Besides, DEP developed the platform STOPVIOLENCE.GE, which unites service providers across the country, who are tackling violence. The platform aims to ease access to the services by providing all necessary information in one portal.
Promoting Employability of Youth with Disabilities (May 2022- December 2022)
The project ‘Promoting Employability of Youth with Disabilities,’ authored and led by DEP team member Tamar Zviadadze, was carried out within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Fellowship Programme, funded by the European Union.
Within the project, both qualitative and quantitative research were conducted with the aim of uncovering employment opportunities and the needs of young people with disabilities. This effort resulted in the production of a policy brief, a study report, and a guideline for supported employment for people with disabilities.
Overcoming Harmful Gender Stereotypes (January 2021- November 2021)
Project „ Overcoming Harmful Gender Stereotypes” was carried out in partnership with Consultation Center for Women “Sakhli” within the programme: EU 4 Gender Equality: Together Against Gender Stereotypes and Gender-Based Violence” which was jointly implemented by UNFPA and UN Women with the financial support of the European Union.
Within the project, DEP produced video podcasts on the topic of gender-based violence and stereotypes.
