Georgian Minority Women as Integration Ambassadors (2023 August-2024 July)
The project “Georgian Minority Women as Integration Ambassadors” is implemented in partnership with German NGO Rönne-Stiftung, with the financial support of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany. The project envisages to educate and train 160 Azerbaijani and Armenian women from Samthske-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions, with the aim to strengthen their leadership capacities and encourage them to take actions for communities’ development. Within the project planned activities envisage:
- Capacity Building Trainings ( on Gender-based leadership, participation in peacebuilding process, advocacy, strategic planning)
- Civic Action Lab (Leadership, developing community-based initiatives)
- Study visit in Germany
- Networking Forum
- Implementing community development initiatives with support of small grants
Fostering Engagement of Youth with disabilities in Arts and Culture (2023 August-2024 March)
The project “Fostering Engagement of Youth with disabilities in Arts and Culture” authored and led by DEP team member Ketevan Tvildiani, is carried out within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Fellowship Programme, funded by the European Union.
The project aims to highlight the challenges and barriers that hinder the active involvement of youth with disabilities in Georgia’s arts and culture sector. Its goal is to advocate for the rights of young people with disabilities and develop recommendations for state and cultural organizations, as well as for youth with disabilities, to raise awareness about the inclusion of youth with disabilities in arts and culture.
Within the framework of this research project, focus groups and in-depth interviews are being conducted, along with an international expert workshop. These activities involve the participation of youth with disabilities, government representatives, and non-governmental and cultural organizations working on disability issues.
Barriers to the access of higher and professional education for the youth of ethnically non-dominant groups in Georgia (2023 February-2023 November)
The project “Barriers to the access of higher and professional education for the youth of ethnically non-dominant groups in Georgia” authored and led by DEP team member Khatia Mamukashvili, is carried out within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Fellowship Programme, funded by the European Union.
The project aims to contribute to the facilitation of the role of education in ethnic minority youth in Georgia, by identifying and addressing the issues that cause Azerbaijani and Armenian youth in Samtkhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions to drop out/not complete higher education.
The research project is based on a complex study approach. Desk, qualitative – focus groups and in-depth expert interviews, as well as quantitative research methods have been applied in combination to identify what are the major and minor challenges Armenian and Azerbaijani youngsters are facing not only in general education but also at professional and higher education levels.
Promoting and Protecting Women and Girls during Covid-19 crisis (2021-2024)
The project “Promoting and Protecting Women and Girls during Covid-19 crisis” is implemented in partnership with Consultation Center for Women “Sakhli”, with the financial support of the UN Trust Fund.
Within the project, Development and Engagement Platform works with survivor women/girls strengthening their soft skills as well as professional capacities.
Trainings envisage two phases:
- Theoretical trainings – cover small business plan creation, project writing, CV & motivational letter writing, and job search skills modules;
- Vocational trainings– various professional courses based on the individual needs of girls/women.
